Many Waltham Forest residents know the frustration of hearing airplanes from London City Airport from 6am till past 10pm.
For those living under the flight path, not only does it cause stress and affect health, it adds to London's already polluted skies and studies have shown that levels of noise exposure from flights have been linked to a two-month delay in the development of primary school children.
City Airport want to double the number of flights and extend their operating hours, including more flights over the weekend - where there are currently restrictions. They also plan eight new aircraft stands and to quadruple the size of the terminal.
This is encouraging more flights and emissions at a time when we should be reducing our carbon footprint and curbing air travel.
