Step-free Access for Leyton Station

Over half of Waltham Forest's train stations, including all four underground stations, have no step-free access from ticket-gate to train. At the moment, those with disabilities, mobility issues, heavy luggage, buggies, and the elderly struggle to use our local stations, particularly when they are crowded.

This limits employment opportunities for people and prevents them from playing a full role in our community.

Liberal Democrats believe that this is not good enough for a modern, 21st-century city. We want to make our borough open and accessible to all.

We call on Transport for London (TfL) to introduce step-free access to Leyton tube station. We call on TfL to explore all options to achieve this, including the "Access for All" programme of Government funding.
