Demand Better for Whipps Cross

The redevelopment of Whipps Cross is long overdue and Liberal Democrats welcome the £2.7bn in funding to completely rebuild the hospital.

Unfortunately, this opportunity is being wasted by proposals that lack existing services provided by the hospital (such as a dedicated dialysis unit) and leave no room for future growth to deal with inevitable changes to the healthcare needs of the community.

Barts Health Trust has already reversed its plans to close the specialist palliative care unit and cut the number of hospital beds. This shows that a strong community response can and will persuade them to change.

Liberal Democrats will continue to campaign to make the new Whipps Cross fit for the future. Your voice has already helped to reverse the cuts to bed numbers, so please join with us again to make sure our new hospital is the best it can be.
