Your Leyton Lib Dem Focus Team are still waiting for the Council to explain why they agreed to an extra floor on the flats at the corner of Leyton High Road and Coopers Lane, using officer delegated powers, without any consultation.
It has become a common sight in our roads to see the gutters overgrown with weeds and grass. It would seem that street cleaning is not being done properly. Farmer Road residents have not been the only ones to highlight this problem. Your local Lib Dem team has taken this issue up with the Council and ask that the gutters Farmer Road and others in the area are properly cleaned.
Residents on the Beaumont Estate have complained that there are no rubbish bins in which they can place their dogs mess. Focus Team member Bob Sullivan has taken this issue up with L&Q Housing Association.
Many residents have complained to us about the increased aircraft noise over their homes. Without consultation new flight paths came into operation this year and to make matters worse our new London Mayor was quick to grant City Airport their extension. A watchdog group formed to reverse the flight paths has been formed of MPs, Councils and the Greater London Authority.
Focus Team member Rupert Alexander said, “Our environment is under threat from polluting aircraft. There is a review of Airspace/Flight paths next February. We will be making sure residents’ concerns are taken into account in the review.”
