Meet Alex Marshall-Lewis
I first joined the party in 2010 having been enthused by the liberal campaign. I've lived in East London for the past 15 years and moved to Walthamstow in 2018, where I live with my family in the fantastic Higham Hill ward. I have been Chair of the Waltham Forest Liberal Democrats since the beginning of 2025.
My main priorities for Higham Hill are environmental. I want to see more action to deter fly-tipping across the ward and regularly go out litter-picking to do my bit. I want to see better protection of our green spaces and stronger measures to ensure our rivers and waterways are clean. I have donated to and supported the East London Waterworks Park project, which would bring wild swimming ponds to the area, new community spaces and a boost to our local biodiversity, and would continue to support the project if elected.
I want to hold the Council to account for the perilous state of its finances. The fact that our reserves have become so depleted that Labour has applied for an emergency bailout is deeply worrying and we need to push for more responsible management of local residents money.
